Overview
WeSupply allows you to receive returned items at a different location than the default warehouse. This flexibility helps merchants direct returns to specific warehouses or fulfillment centers. However, the option to select a different location (via a dropdown menu) does not always appear. This article explains when the dropdown is available and how to configure your account to use it.
Pre-requisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
- At least two locations configured in your WeSupply account.
- Return label creation properly set up.
- Admin access to Settings → Locations in WeSupply.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Open a Return in WeSupply
- From your WeSupply Admin Dashboard, go to Returns.
- Select the return you want to manage.
Step 2 – Locate the “Receive Inventory To” Dropdown
- If available, you will see a dropdown menu to choose the location where the returned inventory will be received.
- Select the appropriate location from the list.
Step 3 – When the Dropdown Appears
The “Receive Inventory To” dropdown is only visible under certain conditions:
- âś… When a return label has not yet been created.
- ❌ It will not appear if:
- The return label is automatically generated.
- An admin has already created the return label.
Examples / Best Practices
- Use this feature when you need to send certain returns to a different warehouse (e.g., damaged goods to a refurbishing center).
- To test visibility, create a return without auto-generating a label — this ensures the dropdown appears.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
Q: Why don’t I see the location dropdown for all returns?
A: The dropdown only appears when no label has been created. If a label is automatically generated or manually added, the system locks the return to that label’s “ship to” address.
Q: Can I turn this feature on or off with a setting?
A: No. The dropdown is not a toggle-based setting; it depends on the label creation workflow.
Q: What if I want more control over return locations?
A: Configure multiple return carriers and locations in your account, then manage returns without automatic label creation to use the dropdown.
