1. Overview
Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) provide your customers with clear expectations of when their orders will arrive. Displaying EDD on your checkout pages builds trust, reduces cart abandonment, and decreases support requests related to delivery timelines.
With WeSupply, you can:
- Enable standard EDD logic across your store.
- Enhance accuracy with LUMA-powered estimates.
- Display EDD directly on Shopify checkout pages.
NOTE: LUMA is optional.
2. Pre-requisites
Before setting up EDD, make sure:
- Your WeSupply account is on a plan that supports Estimated Delivery Date features.
- At least one shipping location is configured (default, warehouse, or specific location).
- You have a default carrier and shipping method set up in Settings β Carriers β Delivery Promise Date Carriers.
- You have an EasyPost account and an active API key with rulesets configured.

For Estimated Delivery Dates:

- Toggle LUMA Shipping AI to ON.
- Enter:
- EasyPost API Key
- Mode (Production or Test)
- Ruleset Name (must match the ruleset created in EasyPost)
- Click Save.
For Return Label Rate Calculation:
- Go to Settings β Carriers β Return Carriers.
- Edit the LUMA API entry.
- Provide your:
- EasyPost API Key
- Mode: Production
- Ruleset Name (from EasyPost)

IF YOU'RE USING LUMA: 3.3 Configure LUMA Rulesets (in EasyPost Dashboard)
- Log in to your EasyPost account.
- Navigate to Shipping Settings β Luma Select β Add a Rule.
- Configure rules based on:
- Carriers and services
- Destination zones
- Weight and dimensions
- Priority (e.g., cheapest, fastest)
- Save the rule.
- Use the exact rule name when connecting it in WeSupply under Delivery Promise Date Carriers or Return Carriers.
3.4 Display EDD in Shopify
- In WeSupply, go to Settings β Return and Warranty Methods β Return Insurance. Enable Return Insurance as part of shipping options.
- Add shipping rates and carriers; if you're unsure on how to do this, please check the steps in our dedicated support article.
- Adding Backup Shipping Rates is optional; however, we strongly recommend this. In the case there are no rates for the default carrier, the system will use the backup option:
- Save changes.
- In Shopify admin, go to Settings β Shipping and Delivery.
- Under Shipping, select your profile and Manage Rates.
- Add Rate β select Use Carrier or app to calculate rates β choose WeSupply Carrier.
- Save.
4. Examples / Best Practices
- For accuracy: Always configure holidays and non-working days, especially around peak seasons.
- For Shopify stores: Place the EDD block near the price or add-to-cart button for higher visibility.
- For complex logistics: Use LUMA rulesets for multi-location, multi-carrier optimization.
5. Troubleshooting / FAQ
Q: Why are my dates inaccurate?
- Check cut-off times, holidays, and days off in settings.
- If using warehouses, ensure they are properly marked as Warehouse = Yes.
Q: Does LUMA cost extra?
- LUMA requires an EasyPost account and API key. Contact EasyPost for pricing.
Q: What happens if I donβt set a default carrier?
- EDD will not calculate properly. Always assign at least one default carrier/service.
