1) Overview
This feature lets customers see the return label price upfront during the Return Preview step—before they submit the request. It improves transparency, reduces surprise charges, and lowers support contacts.
2) Before You Begin
- You have Admin access to WeSupply.
- A shipping provider/carrier is connected (e.g., EasyPost / carrier account).
- Your Return Logic is already configured for label generation (On Request / On Approval / etc.).
3) Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Open Return Logics & Policies
- Go to Settings → Return and Warranty Methods → Return Logics and Policies.
- Click an existing Return Logic to edit (or Create Return Logic).
Step 2 — Enable Label Price Display
- In the selected logic, scroll to the Return by Mail section.
- Enable the option Show return label price in Return Preview.
- Save the logic.
4) How It Works
Scenario 1: Feature Disabled
- The return label generation process remains unchanged.
- For both Return Label Cost and Return Label Cost Upcharge, customers will see a general message about return label costs rather than a specific price.
Scenario 2: Feature Enabled (Returns)
- In the Return Summary, the exact return label cost will be displayed instead of a generic message.
- If an upcharge is applied, the return label price will be calculated correctly and shown in the preview before the customer completes the return request.
Scenario 3: Feature Enabled (Even Exchanges)
- If a customer requests an even exchange, they will be asked to pay the return label cost before completing the process.
- This functions similarly to a more expensive exchange, where the price difference must be paid before finalizing the exchange.
5) Best Practices
- Call it out clearly: Keep the label price description short and unambiguous (e.g., “Return Label”).
- Align with policy: Ensure your public Returns Policy mentions when a return label fee applies.
- Keep services consistent: Use the same carrier/service across your logics when possible so customers see predictable pricing.
- A/B test visibility: If contact rates drop when the price is shown earlier, keep it enabled permanently.
6) Troubleshooting / FAQ
The label price isn’t showing in preview.
- Confirm the toggle is enabled in the Shipping Label section and that you Saved the logic.
- Verify a carrier + service is selected and your carrier account is active.
- Make sure the label is eligible to be priced at preview time (some routes/services require dimensions/weight).
Price says $0.00 but we expect a fee.
- Check the billing setting (who pays). If the merchant pays, the customer may legitimately see $0.00.
- Confirm package defaults (weight/dimensions) so rating can calculate correctly.
Customers say the price at submission differs from preview.
- Ensure all inputs (service, package, origin, destination) are the same between preview and final generation.
- If you rate at approval rather than request, set expectations in the preview text.
7) Summary
Enable Show return label price in Return Preview inside your Return Logic → Shipping Label settings, confirm billing/who pays, and test a Return Preview to verify the Return Label Price line item. This gives customers clear visibility of fees before submission and helps reduce support friction.
