The Force Even Replacements (Ignore Price Changes) setting allows you to automatically process same-SKU replacements at no additional charge, even if the product price has changed since the original order was placed.
This feature is designed specifically for replacement scenarios involving defective or damaged items and helps streamline replacement workflows without requiring manual adjustments from your operations team.
What This Feature Does
When enabled, the system will:
- Detect when the replacement item uses the same SKU as the original item.
- Automatically classify the request as an even replacement.
- Process the replacement with no charge to the customer.
- Ignore any current price differences between the original purchase and the replacement item.
It is intended only for same-SKU product replacements.
Important Notes
- This feature only applies to same-SKU replacements.
- The feature ignores current product price differences between the original order and the replacement item.
- If return costs or restocking fees are configured in the return logic, those charges will still be applied. This setting only affects product price differences during same-SKU replacements.
Common Use Case
A customer receives a damaged or defective item and requests a replacement.
Example:
- Original purchase price: $40
- Current product price: $50
- Replacement SKU: Same as original SKU
With Force Even Replacements enabled:
- The replacement is processed automatically
- The customer is not charged the additional $10
- No manual intervention is required from support or operations teams
How to Enable Force Even Replacements
Follow these steps to enable the setting:
- Go to Settings
- Navigate to Returns
- Select Return Logics and Policies
- Edit an existing return logic or create a new one
- Under the Replacements section:
- Enable Force Even Replacements (Ignore Price Changes)
- Enable Force Even Replacements (Ignore Price Changes)
Once enabled, all eligible same-SKU replacements using that return logic will automatically process as even replacements.
