1. Overview
The Google Product Feed integration allows you to enrich order data in WeSupply with product details such as images, product names, categories, and more. This ensures that customers receive more informative and visually engaging order notifications, emails, and tracking pages.
WeSupply now supports two options for importing Google Product Feed data:
- Google Feed URL (updates daily, every 24 hours).
- CSV upload (processed within ~20 minutes).
2. Pre-requisites
Before setting up your product feed:
- Make sure you already have a Google Product Feed generated from your eCommerce platform (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, etc.).
- Confirm that the feed includes the required attributes such as id, title, image_link, and link.
- Decide whether you will use the Google Feed URL, CSV upload, or both.
⚠️ Important note about URL + CSV: If both are used, only products with differences in the CSV will be updated in the database. However, when the Google Feed URL runs again, those updates may be overwritten. For consistency, we recommend keeping the feed URL data updated.
3. Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Access the Google Product Feed Settings
- Log in to your WeSupply Admin Panel.
- Navigate to:
Settings → Integrations → Google Product Feed.
Step 2 – Add the Google Feed URL
- In the Feed URL field, paste the URL generated from your Google Product Feed.
- Click Save.
- The feed will automatically sync every 24 hours.
Step 3 – Upload a CSV File (Optional)
- In the same section, select the option to Upload CSV (to download the example file, please scroll to the bottom of the article).
- Choose your file from your computer and upload it.
- The file will be processed within ~20 minutes, and you’ll see feedback on the upload status during and after processing.
Step 4 – Verify Data Sync
- Once processed, check your orders and tracking pages to ensure product information (image, name, etc.) is displayed correctly.
4. Examples / Best Practices
- Use URL for automation: If your product catalog changes frequently, rely primarily on the feed URL for daily updates.
- Use CSV for quick corrections: Upload a CSV file if you need to quickly fix or test product data without waiting for the next 24-hour sync.
- Avoid overwrites: If using both URL and CSV, remember that the URL feed will overwrite CSV updates during its next scheduled run.
5. Troubleshooting / FAQ
Q: My CSV updates disappeared after 24 hours. Why?
A: The Google Feed URL runs daily and may overwrite CSV changes. To prevent this, make sure the URL feed is updated and aligned with your CSV.
Q: How long does a CSV upload take to process?
A: Typically within 20 minutes, with progress feedback displayed in your admin.
Q: What fields are required in the feed?
A: At minimum: id, title, image_link, and link. Additional fields may be required depending on your setup.
Q: Can I use only CSV without a URL?
A: Yes, CSV-only is supported, but we recommend also setting up the URL for automated updates.
