When working with the WeSupply app on BigCommerce, it’s important to understand how reinstallation impacts your store’s configuration. Each time the WeSupply app is reinstalled, a brand-new account is automatically generated — and this can lead to confusion or lost progress if multiple team members are involved.
Why This Is Important
If multiple users on your team are managing the WeSupply integration and someone reinstalls the app, it may wipe out all previous configuration and setup. This happens because every reinstallation of the app creates a brand-new WeSupply account. As a result, all previous settings, branding, and data associated with the old account are no longer accessible. Without clear internal communication, your team could accidentally overwrite completed work and delay your go-live timeline.
How to Avoid Overwriting Your WeSupply Setup
To ensure your store is using the correct WeSupply account and to avoid losing progress:
- Do Not Reinstall the App Unless Necessary
Reinstalling the WeSupply app on your eCommerce platform automatically creates a new WeSupply account. This will erase any prior setup and require you to start over from scratch. - Coordinate with Your Internal Team
If multiple people are involved in the WeSupply setup (branding, configuring locations, setting up notifications, etc.), make sure everyone is aligned and working within the same existing account. - Communicate Internally Before Making Changes
- Assign a dedicated team member or group to manage WeSupply configurations.
- Confirm with your team that the app should not be reinstalled unless explicitly required.
- Share the active WeSupply login credentials or admin access internally, so everyone works on the same environment.
- Moving Forward With a New Account
If your store has already reinstalled the app and started a new account:- Note that prior settings are not recoverable.
- Continue with the current account setup as your base.
- Reconfigure your settings from scratch and make sure to avoid any unnecessary app reinstalls.
