How it works
The "Apply the Original Discount on Exchanged Items" feature ensures that customers receive the same discounts or promotions on exchanged items as they did on their original purchases. When a customer initiates an exchange through WeSupply, the platform automatically applies the original discount or promotion to the exchanged item, maintaining consistency and fairness in the exchange process. This helps enhance customer satisfaction and retention by providing a seamless experience and ensuring that customers receive the full benefits of their initial purchase discounts or promotions.
Setup
- Navigate to Settings > Return Logics and Policies;
- Select the return logic you’d like to edit;
- Look for Exchange;
- Select the Only to variants of the same product with the same price option;
- Enable the Carrying Over Item Discount option;
- Save the changes you’ve made.
Customer experience
Return requests that fall under this logic will display the original discount on the summary page without taking it into account during the calculation:

- Will this discount be carried over multiple times? No, it is only for the order to which it was applied.
- Is this eligible just for customers returning via mail? No, this can also be done for customers exchanging in person.
- Is the discount set on WeSupply? No, all discounts must be placed on your platform (Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc.).
- Is this option available for other types of exchanges? Yes, it is.
