How to Configure Shopify's Point of Sale for Seamless In-Person Exchange Process

Expanding your sales channels to include in-person transactions is a strategic move for many businesses. With Shopify's Point of Sale (POS) system, you can seamlessly integrate your brick-and-mortar operations with your online store. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to configure Shopify's Point of Sale for smooth in-person selling:

1. Access Point of Sale Settings: Begin by navigating to the "Sales Channels" section in your Shopify dashboard and select "Point of Sale".
2. Configure Staff Permissions: Head to Settings ➝ Users and permissions ➝ Add Staff. Add the staff that has access to the POS app -> For each user, a PIN is automatically set (this can be changed) - this is important as it will be later used to log into the app.
3. Install WeSupply App: Head to the Shopify app marketplace and install the WeSupply app. If it is already installed, skip this step.
4. Set Up WeSupply Account: In your WeSupply account, go to Settings ➝ Users and permissions ➝ Create a user account for each staff member that was added in Shopify.
5. Accept WeSupply Invitation: Accept the invitation received via email, which will redirect you to the WeSupply account. Log out, then create a password for your user. This password is required for logging into the POS dashboard from the mobile app.
6. Access POS View on WeSupply: To access the POS view in WeSupply, add "-pos" to your account's URL. Example:

7. Log in to Shopify POS App: Upon initial login, you need to use the username and password from your Shopify login. Subsequent login attempts, require the PIN associated with the user.
8. Select Store and Location: Choose the appropriate store and location associated with your user.
9. Allow App Permissions: Enable all app permissions as required.
10. Access WeSupply Dashboard in Shopify POS App: Once logged in, select "Add tile" ➝ "Link". Add the URL of your WeSupply store with "-pos" at the end. Provide a title and click "Save".
11. Save Changes: Return to the main dashboard and click "Save" once more.
12. Log in to WeSupply via Shopify POS App: Click on the tile and log in using the credentials saved in step 5. This is necessary only for the first login from the app.
