Packing slips play a crucial role in the return process. They serve as proof of purchase and help in identifying the order details, making the return process smoother and faster. They contain essential information such as the order number, product details, and customer information, which aids in tracking and managing returns efficiently. By using packing slips, both customers and businesses can ensure accurate, prompt, and hassle-free returns. This guide will walk you through the process of enabling this feature.
Enabling Packing Slips
1. Log into your WeSupply Labs account. Navigate to the 'Settings' tab located on the dashboard.
2. Click on the 'Return Methods' page and select 'Advanced Settings'.
3. Scroll down until you find the 'Labels' section. Here, you will find a toggle button for enabling packing slip generation. By default, this option is turned off. Click the toggle button to turn it on.
Adding Order/RMA Number on the Packing Slip
You can opt-in to include a barcode on the packing slip. This barcode, when scanned, can display either the Order number or the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. This can be particularly useful for easy tracking and processing of returns.
To enable this feature, simply locate the 'Barcode' option in the 'Labels' section under 'Advanced Settings'. Check off the box to turn it on. You will then be prompted to select whether the barcode should display the Order number or the RMA number. Choose the option that best suits your business needs.
You can also add your store policy, return policy, and final sale items directly onto the packing slip under this section by checking the "Add store policy on the packing slip" box.
Additionally, you have the option to choose the format of the packing slip as either A4 or letter format (8.5x11 in). This allows you to customize the size of your packing slips according to your preferences.
Including Packing Slip in the Email Notifications
To add the Packing Slip to your notifications, you will need to modify your email templates by adding the [*packing_slip_label_url*] variable. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do this:
Step 1: Navigate to Branding -> Notifications
Step 2: Select the Email Template to Modify
Next, you need to select the email template you wish to modify. We recommend adding the Packing Slip to the email that confirms the generation of the return label. This is because it's the most logical place for it - your customer is already expecting to receive information about their return, so including the Packing Slip here makes sense.
Step 3: Add the [*packing_slip_label_url*] Variable
Once you've selected the appropriate email template, you can now add the [*packing_slip_label_url*] variable. You can add this variable anywhere in the email template, depending on where you want the Packing Slip to appear.
Step 4: Save Your Changes
Remember to save your changes. This will update the email template, and the Packing Slip will now be included in all future emails sent using this template.
