In this article, we will guide you through the process of triggering a return-delivered webhook event in WeSupply Labs. This is useful for simulating a real delivery and testing the return process in your e-commerce platform. Follow the steps below to successfully trigger the event.
Step 1: Place an Order
Begin by placing an order on your ecommerce platform. Make sure to use a valid shipping address. Once the order is placed, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Ship the Order with a Delivered Tracking Number
To simulate a real delivery, you need to ship the order using an already-delivered tracking number. You can obtain a delivered and valid tracking number from a previous successful delivery. Update the order's tracking information with the delivered tracking number.
Step 3: Initiate a Return Request as an Admin User
Log in to your WeSupply Labs account and navigate to WeSupply > Orders. Find the order you placed in Step 1 and click on the order number to view its details. Initiate a return request by clicking on the "Return" button. Make sure not to create a return label during the return process, as this will be done manually in the next step.
Step 4: Assign an Out for Delivery Tracking Number to the Return Request
In order to trigger the return delivered webhook event, you need to assign an "out for delivery" tracking number to the return request. This can be obtained from a real shipment that is currently out for delivery or by using a tracking number generator online. Update the return request with the "out for delivery" tracking number.
Step 5: Wait for the Return Delivered Event
Once you have assigned the "out for delivery" tracking number to the return request, you need to wait for the return delivered event to be triggered. This event will occur when the return shipment is marked as delivered by the carrier. Keep an eye on the tracking information to see when the delivery takes place.
