In this article, we will guide you through the process of setting up estimated delivery dates for your products based on their attributes in your WeSupply Labs account.
This will help you provide accurate delivery estimates to your customers, improving their shopping experience on your Magento store.
Note: If you want to display the default promise delivery date for all your products regardless of the product attribute, you can leave the 'Conditions' section empty and just set up your processing time if needed.
Step 1: Identify the Product Attributes
First, you need to identify the product attributes you want to use for setting up estimation rules. These attributes can be anything like color, vendor, size, etc. Make sure these attributes are already set up in your Magento store and that those are being transferred to WeSupply.
a) To do this, make sure you have the right product attributes exported to WeSupply by going to your Magento Admin Panel > WeSupply extension > Configuration > Advanced Settings > Product Attributes To Be Exported For Return Logics.
b) Select the desired product attributes and click Save Config. From now on, these product attribute will sync to WeSupply each time a new order is imported.
Step 2: Log in to Your WeSupply Labs Account
Log in to your WeSupply Labs account and navigate to the 'Settings' section.
Step 3: Access the Estimation Rules Section
In the 'Settings' section, click on the 'Delivery Promise Date' tab to access the rules management area.
Step 4: Create a New Estimation Rule
Click on the 'Promise Date Policies' and 'Add Logic' button to create a new estimation rule based on a product attribute.
Step 5: Define the Rule Conditions
In the 'Conditions' section, select the product attribute you want to use for the rule.
a) For example, if you want to create a rule based on the color attribute, select 'Product Attribute' from the dropdown menu.
b) Add the 'Attribute Name' as the product attribute code from Magento (the lowercase version of it, eg. 'color') and the 'Value' as the attribute (eg. 'red').
c) Click the 'Add' button.
For example, you can add 3 days to the processing time under 'Estimate Window' for products with the color red, enter 'equals' in the condition field and 'red' in the value field.
Step 6: Set the Additional Processing Time
In the 'Estimate Window' section, enter the number of days you want to add to the processing time for the products that meet the rule conditions.
In our example, select '3 Days' to add 3 days to the processing time for red-colored products.
Step 7: Save the Rule
Click on the 'Save Changes' button to save your new estimation rule.
Step 8: Create Additional Rules (Optional)
If you want to create more estimation rules based on other product attributes, repeat steps 4-7 for each rule.
Step 9: Test the Rules
Once you have set up all the estimation rules, test them on your Magento store to ensure they are working correctly. Add products with different attributes to your cart and check if the estimated delivery dates are calculated according to the rules you have set up.
Additionally, we recommend using the Delivery Promise Date Simulator within WeSupply for a quick review of how your estimates rules are applied.
